Are you new to networking?
If so we are here to help. A lot of women are wary of going to new events in case they have to speak up in front of a lot of people or they don't know anyone. If this sounds like you just drop us a line to chris@eszences.com and Karen & I will watch out for you and make sure you feel at ease then introduce you to some of our regular ladies that we know will take care of you.
Networking Tips:
1. If you see someone standing alone at a networking event, they would probably be grateful if you approached them and introduced yourself, after all wouldn't you? Chances are they probably haven't come to a networking event for solitude!
2. You have two ears and one mouth, use them in that proportion. Listen to the other person and consider how you can help them. The answer might not be that you can help them but you probably know someone else who can. Becoming a powerful resource for others will always benefit you.
3. Networking is not selling, if you go to networking events just to sell, and everyone else does the same, who is going to buy?
4. Always remember people are interested in people who are interested in them - Dale Carnegie
5. Look at body language of people before deciding to join a group, are they in an open or closed position i.e. is there room for you to join in the group and make eye contact. It's often easier to join a group with an odd number as there will often be someone thats on the edge of the group. Make eye contact and wait for a break in the conversation before joining in.
